About me

My name is Yagmur, I’m from Turkey, and animals have always been a natural part of my life. I grew up surrounded by cats and spent many years caring for them, including kittens, sick cats, and cats with special needs. I also had a very large dog who I cared for until his old age. These experiences taught me a lot about responsibility, empathy, patience, and the importance of a good daily routine.

I live in a quiet, clean, and pet-friendly home with my own dog. She is calm, friendly, and well-socialized, and she gets along well with other animals. Because of this, I only accept pets who are comfortable around other dogs and are used to being in a home with another dog.

My main goal is to make every pet feel safe, calm, and loved while they are with me. I always try to understand each animal as an individual and respect their personality, habits, pace, and emotional needs. I pay attention to their body language, mood, and behaviour and adjust my care accordingly.

I have a flexible daily schedule and spend most of my time at home, so pets are not left alone for long periods. If I need to go out, it is usually only for a short time. For dogs, I provide regular walks based on their age, fitness, and energy level. With cats, I offer calm companionship and gentle play, while also giving them space if they prefer to be independent. I also regularly send owners photos and short updates so they know how their pet is doing.

While a pet is staying with me, I do my best to keep their usual routine — including feeding, walks, rest, and any necessary medication. My home is calm, clean, and safe, with enough space for both relaxing and moving around.

For me, pet sitting is much more than just a job. It is a responsibility based on trust. I understand that when owners leave their pets with me, they are trusting me with a member of their family, and I take that responsibility seriously. I always care for each pet with patience, attention, and genuine affection.

What sets me apart

What I believe makes my pet care different is the way I pay attention to the individual needs and behaviour of each animal. I don’t see pet care as simply following a checklist. I observe their body language, mood, energy, and behaviour, and adjust their routine, walks, playtime, and rest accordingly. My goal is not only to meet their basic needs, but to understand what makes them feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed.

I am also comfortable with situations that may require extra patience and attention. I have experience caring for animals with different personalities, routines, and needs, and I understand that every pet may react differently when their owner is away. I try to stay calm, patient, and consistent, especially when an animal is stressed or unsettled.

I have also cared for several dogs who experienced separation anxiety. In these situations, behaviours such as accidents in the house, chewing, restlessness, or other stress-related behaviours can sometimes happen even when their basic needs have been fully met. I have experience dealing with these situations calmly and patiently, without punishment or unnecessary stress for the dog. I understand that these behaviours can be worrying for owners, especially when leaving their pet with someone else, so I always try to create a safe and reassuring environment where both the pet and the owner can feel comfortable.

Another important part of my approach is communication with owners. I believe they should feel informed and reassured while their pet is in my care. I regularly share photos and short updates and pay attention to anything unusual, whether it is a change in appetite, mood, energy, or behaviour.

For me, good pet sitting is about more than keeping an animal fed and exercised. It is about creating a familiar, calm, and caring environment where they can feel secure while their owner is away. I believe this combination of observation, patience, communication, and genuine care is what makes my approach different.
